The bike that will be used for the JoGLE is a Specialized Tricross 2012 with a number of modifications. This is the closest that Specialized do to a tourer. It’s a road bike but also has rack mountings and enough clearance for mud guards. After purchasing this bike I also found that @Specialized_Guy was using an older model rebuilt for a European cycle tour. So if it was good enough for that kind of punishment…

Upgrades from standard configuration:

• Cassette: upgrade from 12-27t to 11-32t
• Chainring: Changed smallest chain ring for a slightly smaller 28t
• 2 x Schwalb Marathon Plus puncture resistant tyres 700 x 32c
• 2 x Specialized Bottle Cages with bottles
• 1 x Tortec Pannier Rack
• 2 x Altura Panniers
• 1 x Altura Arran Bar Bag
